Whether you’re looking to replace costly electric heaters or wish to upgrade your existing gas central heating system, Simon Archer Ltd can help you.
From advice and planning, through to installation and set-up for optimum efficiency, we offer a complete peace-of-mind service. Every gas central heating system we install uses parts and components chosen for performance and reliability. At the heart of these systems is the industry-leading Intergas condensing boiler. Whether you require a combi or conventional system boiler, the Intergas range has a model to suit every home. With only 4 moving parts, they offer cast-iron reliability and are backed up by either a 7 or 10 year warranty! For further information on our Intergas boiler installations please click here.
We install both radiator and under floor heating systems and can advise on which option is best for you. Every system we install is linked to high efficiency thermostats and controls to give you easy-to-use, reliable control of your heating and hot water - and save you money on energy bills!
As members of the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating, our services can be depended on for a high standard of work. All of our heating engineers are Gas Safe registered and fully qualified to carry out any works on your central heating system in a safe and professional manner.
The process begins with a site survey to determine the best central heating solution for you. We will then provide a detailed quotation outlining the work and parts required to complete your installation. If accepted, and subject to a booking fee, we will then schedule the work and provide you with a start date. Please note: Due to high demand, there is likely to be a lead time between accepting our quotation and the start of any work. If you have a particular deadline, please inform us at the time of your initial enquiry.
Having the correct heating controls, and using them efficiently, will save you money on your heating bills and give you the ability to schedule your heating and hot water as required. Heating controls must include a boiler thermostat, a timer or programmer, a room thermostat and a minimum of thermostatic radiator valves (TRVs) in all bedrooms.
Thermostatic Radiator Valves (TRVs) provide control of individual room temperatures by sensing the air temperature around them and regulating the flow of hot water through the radiator. Simply set the TRV to a level that gives you the room temperature you want. To maximise accuracy and efficiency, avoid placing in direct sunlight or shielding by curtains or other obstructions.
Please note: TRVs do not control the boiler. Therefore you should fit TRVs on all radiators except those in the same area as a wall thermostat. This room may never get warm enough to turn the boiler off via the wall thermostat if the temperature is being controlled independently by a TRV.
Smart thermostats are a type of heating control which connects to the Internet, allowing them to be accessed and adjusted remotely using a mobile App. When used with a suitable boiler such as our Intergas models, they adjust the boiler to achieve optimal performance at all times. Remote monitoring and adjustment modules can also be installed to the Intergas ECO RF model to provide greater control over your heating – at any time, from anywhere.

OpenTherm is available across the entire Intergas range of boilers. OpenTherm sets the rules on how the boiler and the room thermostat communicate with each other. By accurately controlling the boiler’s water temperature and 'Control Setpoint' as it leaves the boiler, an OpenTherm controlled central heating system provides far greater temperature consistency by eliminating the ‘yo-yo’ effect of too hot then too cold that traditional thermostats create by just switching the boiler on and off. This not only gives greater control and comfort for you, but also ensures optimum boiler efficiency - meaning lower gas bills and increasing the lifespan of your boiler.
